Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when you use Faction's website and services.

Last updated: June 30, 2026

Overview

Faction ("Faction," "we," "us," or "our") provides a team AI workspace that connects the tools your organization already uses. This Privacy Policy describes how we handle personal information when you visit runfaction.com, create an account at app.runfaction.com, or otherwise use our services.

By using Faction, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

Information we collect

Information you provide

  • Account details such as name, email address, organization name, and password or authentication credentials
  • Billing and subscription information processed through our payment providers
  • Support requests, feedback, and other communications you send to us
  • Workspace settings, member invitations, and admin configuration choices

Information from connected tools

When your organization connects third-party services such as HubSpot, Notion, Asana, Slack, Google Workspace, or other integrations, Faction accesses data from those services according to the permissions your admin grants. That data may include documents, messages, contacts, tasks, and other content needed to provide workspace-scoped AI assistance.

See the Google user data section below for disclosures specific to Gmail, Google Drive, and Google Calendar.

Information collected automatically

  • Device and browser information, IP address, and general location derived from IP
  • Usage data such as pages viewed, features used, timestamps, and referral URLs
  • Log data related to authentication, security events, and service performance
  • Cookies and similar technologies described below

Google user data

When your organization connects Gmail, Google Drive, or Google Calendar, Faction accesses Google user data through Google OAuth according to the scopes your admin approves and the actions users take in a workspace. This section describes how we handle that data.

What Google user data we collect

  • Basic Google account profile information from OAuth, such as your name and email address
  • Gmail data your workspace can access, such as message metadata, message content, and drafts when you use Gmail features
  • Google Drive data your workspace can access, such as file names, file content, and folder structure when you use Drive features
  • Google Calendar data your workspace can access, such as calendar lists, event details, and scheduling information when you use Calendar features
  • OAuth tokens and connection metadata needed to maintain authorized integrations

How we use Google user data

We use Google user data only to provide and improve Faction workspace features. We do not use Google user data for advertising, interest-based or retargeted advertising, selling to data brokers, credit decisions, or training generalized AI models.

  • Provide workspace features you or your admin enable, such as searching mail, reading files, summarizing content, drafting replies, and scheduling meetings
  • Authenticate connections, enforce admin-configured permissions, and deliver chat and tool actions inside Faction
  • Monitor usage, troubleshoot issues, and protect against fraud, abuse, or security incidents
  • Improve Faction workspace functionality, such as reliability and product performance

How we share, transfer, or disclose Google user data

We do not sell Google user data. We share, transfer, or disclose Google user data only as described below or with your direction.

  • Service providers that help us operate Faction, such as hosting, infrastructure, and customer support tools, under contractual confidentiality and security obligations
  • AI model providers when a workspace feature you request requires processing Google user data to generate a response or complete an action. We require these providers to use the data only to deliver services to Faction, not for their own advertising or model training on your Google data
  • Other members of your organization according to workspace membership and admin settings
  • Professional advisors, regulators, or law enforcement when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security
  • A successor entity in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this policy

How we protect, retain, and delete Google user data

We protect Google user data with administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, including encryption in transit, access controls, and server-side storage of OAuth credentials rather than distributing secrets to individual devices.

We retain Google user data for as long as needed to provide the services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When you disconnect a Google integration, delete workspace content, close a workspace, or terminate an account, we delete or de-identify associated Google user data within a reasonable period unless we must retain it for legal, security, or backup purposes.

You may request deletion of Google user data associated with your account by contacting privacy@runfaction.com. Organization admins can also disconnect Google integrations in the product.

How we use information

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Faction platform and connected workspace features
  • Authenticate users, manage organizations, and enforce admin-configured permissions
  • Process subscriptions, send service-related notices, and respond to support requests
  • Monitor usage, troubleshoot issues, and protect against fraud, abuse, or security incidents
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service
  • Send product updates or marketing communications where permitted. You may opt out of marketing emails at any time

AI and automated processing

Faction uses AI models to help your team work with connected tools and documents inside a workspace. Prompts, responses, and relevant workspace context may be processed to deliver chat and tool actions your admin enables.

We design Faction so workspace access follows the permissions set by your organization. Do not submit information to Faction unless your organization has authorized that use.

We do not use Google user data to train generalized AI models. Google user data is processed only to provide and improve the workspace features described in this policy.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as described below or with your direction.

  • Service providers that help us operate Faction, such as hosting, analytics, payment processing, email delivery, and customer support tools
  • Connected third-party services when your organization authorizes an integration and a user or workspace action requires it
  • Other members of your organization according to workspace membership and admin settings
  • Professional advisors, regulators, or law enforcement when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security
  • A successor entity in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this policy

Data retention

We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Retention periods may vary based on the type of data and your organization's settings.

When you delete content, close a workspace, or terminate an account, we delete or de-identify information within a reasonable period unless we must retain it for legal, security, or backup purposes.

Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and server-side storage of integration credentials rather than distributing secrets to individual devices. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, understand how our website is used, and improve performance. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Some features may not function properly if cookies are disabled.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. Organization admins may manage member access and many workspace settings directly in the product.

To make a privacy request, contact us at privacy@runfaction.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

International transfers

Faction may process and store information in the United States and other countries where we or our service providers operate. Those countries may have data protection laws that differ from the laws where you live.

Children

Faction is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the updated policy on this page and update the last updated date. Your continued use of Faction after changes become effective means you accept the revised policy.
